It is clear that a tremendous amount of work has gone
into preparing the plan. Having attended several of the Consultation
opportunities, I have been impressed by the ways in which comments and
considerations have been taken on board and the plan has developed. The
priorities of maintaining and sustaining the town as a lively centre in which
to live and work whilst maintaining it's unique character, are absolutely right
and the relationships between diff. community aspects e.g.need to develop
schools alongside more housing, need to develop a variety of housing- are well
thought through. The siting of a supermarket at Avon Mills is a very good
choice - enhancing the High St hopefully and enriching the retail life of the
town - as is the housing dev. proposal for two sites. Above all the plan keeps
Malmesbury in the heart of a developing and growing community - not a sprawling
face-less conurbation that simply expresses the power of the developers!! Thank
you very much for all your hardwork - your plan proposes an exciting future for
