While I am against any more houses being built in Malmesbury, the draft
Neighbourhood Plan seems to be a sensible solution to government housing
requirements. The fact that the majority of required new housing has already
been built also means that the remaining housing still to be built does not seem
such a daunting prospect. However, once this housing has been built, under no
circumstances should developers be allowed to build any further houses within
the time period. Overall, the draft neighbourhood plan seems to be well
thought-through and to have covered all bases. My personal preference would be
for Waitrose (or another supermarket) to take over the Gloucester Road Co-op so
that the town has more choice in supermarkets, with no further supermarkets
being built. I would like the draft plan to go ahead unimpeded. It is
ridiculous that any development should be approved on the site the south of
Filands as it goes against the draft Neighbourhood Plan and makes a mockery of
Government plans to allow Malmesbury residents to have a say in future town
