I support the proposed supermarket at the Avon Mills site. This will reduce the number of
journeys to supermarkets in Cirencester, Tetbury and Chippenham, and hopefully
increase the viability of the Town Centre. The choice of the Avon Mill site is
consistent with housing developments at sites 5, 6, 10 and
I do NOT support the extension of the Town boundary to include the Lower High Street
below South Gate. This stretch of the High Street presents a wonderful approach
and gateway into the Town which should be preserved in its present state. Most
other small towns would envy such a glorious entrance, so leave it alone.
Besides there is no evidence of any need to extend the trading area of the HIgh
Street including numerous empty shops.
It would be better to focus on developing and improving the appearance of
the existing town centre.
