Draft Plan Section 3- More Shopping Choice. The need
for more shopping choice is urgent to prevent discerning people going out of
town, which is what happens at present. The Co-op is too expensive, lack choice
and is altogether behind the times for a beautiful market town such as
Malmesbury. In my opinion, if a Waitrose is granted planning permission, said
decision can only provide the town with : Exceptional shopping experience
:Perfect size for the town : Competitive prices :Bring people into the High
Street for specialist shopping : Provide much needed work and training for
local residents. The above has been proved in other similar market towns around
the counrty i.e. Booths Supermarket Chain in Lancashire.
