Draft Plan Section 1. Areas 5,6,10,11 appear to be
furthest areas from the town, not closest as per draft plan section 3 para 3.
Also map too small to see areas fully. Draft Plan Section 2. Need for 2-3
bedroom housing for housing association families awaiting larger accomodation.
Large amount of waster ground between White Lion Park and Buildbase Yard. Ised
to be allotments closed by Council for building, but after 15 years still not
built on. Land along B4040 meet to Parklands and opposite school playing
fileds. Was this land not bequeathed to the church for affordable housing for
Malmesbury people? Draft Plan Section 3. The largest residential estates
Parklands, White Lion, Reeds Farm and Filands are all closer to the garden
centre site and not really walking distance from Silk Mills, not very good with
a load of shopping so still necessary for transport. Draft Plan Section 3A.
Town centre needs shops that will attract shoppers, at the moment most shops
are overpriced and I for one would rather shop on line and wait a couple of
days rather than pay the extra. Most people require cheap clothes shops- not
one in Malmesbury. Draft Plan Section 4. Industrial units why spread them about
Dysons and the dozen or so small premises of Tetbury Rd estate, use
neighbouring land for new industrial units and Techno units. leave garden
centre for supermarket ( whether it be Waitrose or Sainsbury) and leave Silk
Mill site alone. Draft Plan Section 5. Primary school 2 in Malmesbury. 1 in
Crudwell, 1 in Leigh,1 in Oaksey all feed Malmesbury Main school. how long
before that is overflowing and kids from Malmesbury have to go further afield
for Secondary Education. Draft Plan Section 6. Sports facilities behind Co-Op-
what if Co-op take this land? Parking spaces in town centre CANNOT be
increased, nowhere to put them. SOLAR PANELS between Malmesbury and Corstob one
word only describes them EYESORE
