Communities Minister Don Foster today has announced a £9.5million, 2-year fund to support people in hundreds of areas across the country in creating neighbourhood plans to shape development in their area, such as the location of new housing and businesses. Groups of residents seeking to create a neighbourhood plan will be able to bid for up to £7,000 each to contribute to the costs of preparing their proposal.
Don recently visited Malmesbury School to view the work that we are doing with our neighbourhood plan.  CLICK ME for more details about the grant scheme

We also were keen to find out how many people think there is a need for another supermarket in the Malmesbury area.

THE APPEAL CHALLENGE

The steering group made every effort to defend the right of our community to have a real say about future development.  We strongly argued that the Gleeson proposal should be rejected and that our neighbourhood planning process should decide where new housing should go.  We will find out the result some time in April of this year

We are keen to make sure that you are fully informed about progress with our neighbourhood planning documents. For the first time you get to scrutinise our work in advance of any final decision making. We are keen to give all residents in our neighbourhood the opportunity to help shape our plan before we go to consultation and referendum. We have also included supporting evidence documents. These documents will help explain the logic behind our proposals.  We will make sure to update the page and add any more supporting documents as soon as the drafts are approved by the steering group. We need your views to make sure that there is a broad consensus about the proposals in the plan.
