As a relative newcomer to the area I do not feel
qualified to comment on the Housing development locations. However from past
experience as a Surrey County Councillor, the draft plan section 8 states that
'parked cars must not dominate a housing development' and this needs careful
consideration. Restricting parking for new houses off road simply exacerbates
roadside parking congestion. Unless covenants attached to house purchase
restricting car ownership to one vehicle, most owners will have two vehicles.
Two off road spaces will enhance rather than have a negative impact visually, a
cluttered streetscape can be visually intrusive and less safe for vehicles and
pedestrians. The exhibition
featured a board with renewable energy information including a proposal for a
hydro electric (archimedes screw). Please contact me for a candid view of
operational pitfalls of living close to one of these installations.
